User-Centered Design

This course is about designing applications of novel technologies that create value for people, in other words, that enable people to engage in meaningful activities. To do so it is important to have an insight in people’s values, preferences, habits, abilities, limitations etc. Without such insight, my made products may not meet people’s interests needs and capabilities. And in this way may be unnecessary.

In this course I have learned about user-centered design processes. I have especially focused on the ease of use.

We did that by researching people’s requirements and desires through interviewing. We applied this knowledge on designing a shopping system. Afterwards we returned to the user to test our product and research the disadvantages or other wishes of the user. To redo this process over and over until the user is satisfied.

Additional information about our product and process can be found in the report in the download section.
